Happiness is NOW is extremely proud to present The Bridge: Juniors Dance Competition.

Much of the staff has been throwing these events for several years now, each season bringing with it different challenges and rewards that keep us on our toes… We LOVE it, though.

Although, around this time of year I sometimes need to remind myself what keeps us producing these events. The HIN staff, TM, and TM Juniors spend HOURS AND HOURS producing this show. They give up sleep, time with their family, their friends.

When you’ve been working in this scene for over 13 years, you sometimes forget what motivates these people to give up SO MUCH of themselves…

Then you hear about all the teams preparing for these events, dedicating countless hours, perfecting their routines, year after year.

And then you remember, that what fuels all these people, is PASSION.

In a world where teacher layoffs and budget cuts affect students everywhere,  PASSION is what fuels these dancers to keep on movin’, and our dance community provides a place for them to DO IT.

Mainstream culture may ALWAYS tell you success is measured by money, that your CALLING should take a backseat to society’s wishes…

Dancers put on their headphones, turn up the volume, IGNORE ALL THAT, and DANCE ON… They keep pushing, and they DANCE ON.. They dance in studios, in the rain, in parking lots, when no one’s watching AND when everyone’s watching, and they ALWAYS WILL…

When I remember all this, I put on my own headphones, turn up the volume, and remember that this is why I DO IT..

THIS YEAR, we’re inviting teachers, administration, local nonprofits, and whoever else we can round up to show the world the passion, determination, and talent of some of the nation’s FINEST junior dance crews.
